Venue Stories
A queer friendly space for everyone! Each night has different vibe!
My personal trainer at Fitness First is a legend, always making me feel welcome and confident. Shoutout to Perry!
The Alex is a great venue for a few drinks on a sunny afternoon, especially if you love dogs as much as I do! Check out their WorldPride installation!
Every time I go to Lumiere I feel so accepted and safe, and the food is great to boot. A Surry Hills icon!
Mary's is a great venue for all queer folks and allies! In the heart of Rundle Street, catch amazing queens like Eve Elle, Indi Klosette, Luci Furr and Kane Enables alongside some fantastic music in a funky atmoshphere. As a queer person in Adelaide, this place makes me feel seen and safe <3

Thornharbour health have a large supply of the mpx cvaccines and appointments you can book online. They have Saturday appointments which is super useful. https://thorneharbour.org/sexual-health/mpox/
Very welcoming place for all people - never any judgement and they make healthcare easy
I went out with two friends and ended up running into ten. There’s nothing like running into a large group of people that you love to be around. We all hugged, kissed, and danced until the place closed.
I love the Tit, it’s such a vibrant, quirky place where I can vibe with my fellow queers! The bar staff are so friendly, the venue is cool AF and the entertainment is fabulous!
During Mardi Gras in 2022, my friend was visiting and we did a workout together at Newtown Gym. We wanted to be cheeky and workout in skimpy wrestling singlets. The gym loved it and made us feel very welcomed. They even took pics of it and used it as content!
Dean Street is probably the best sexual health experience I've ever had - the people who work there have a real understanding of the problems facing queer people today, they're well informed and it's a judgement free zone.
There's two rooms with very separate vibes, so there's something for everyone. You can pretty much guarantee you'll have a good time if you go out. And it's a gay bar that actually has really good security looking out for the people in the venue, which I find can be a bit of a rarity
Feeling right at home in a room full of strangers.
The Laird is a protected queer men's space that hosts sunday drinks with a bunnings-style sausage sizzle in the beer garden for charity. It's a very relaxed afternoon with just chill drinking vibes.
My friends and I would go to Queerstories to hear people share their stories from their lived experiences. It was food for the soul hearing about the highs and the lows of others shared experiences. I loved the sense of belonging and solidarity, and support the audience brought allowing readers to be completely vulnerable to a room of strangers.
It was at Redfern Surf Club on a casual night out with a guy I'd been dating where he asked me to be his boyfriend. I was so overwhelmed with happiness I cried at the table. All the staff there are so nice and friendly that I didn't feel too embarrassed.
