We came together to create Spectrum to address figures like those below:
We want to help improve quality of life for queer people in Australia (particularly those who are isolated, closeted or at risk), thereby lowering the alarmingly high rates of suicide and depression within the community.
What is Spectrum?
Spectrum is a useful, ethical and dynamic app for queer people who are isolated, closeted or at risk to utilise in times of need, where they can easily find information, know how to seek help and get support, and connect with others locally.
Spectrum is a platform designed to help you understand what it means to be a queer person, no matter where you are on your own personal journey.
It’s a judgement-free space where you can be whomever you wish to be, and it’s a place full of other people who are just like you.
Matthew Fiacchi, Co-founder
As a loud, proud queer person, the health and wellbeing of my community is deeply important to me. Like many queer people, I’ve had firsthand experience dealing with isolation, mental health issues and discrimination, and I want to do what I can to make all our lives a little bit brighter.
As an innovator and a creative, the chance to build something that could really help address the diverse needs within queer spaces is a dream come true!
Tish Tambakau, Co-founder
I am passionate about creating solutions that solve a real need for people. Why this means a lot to me is because I have siblings that identify as a transgender and gay and I’ve learnt about their hardships firsthand. I am so honoured to be able to now build a product that sits so close to my heart and can help this and future generations to come.
Behind every great product and business lies a bunch of amazing and talented people who have poured their heart into making it the best it can be. Here’s our team of superstars who are helping us bring the Spectrum vision to life.
